Composition is one of the most important tools in photography, it draws in the viewer’s attention, making them look at the photograph instead of a casual glance. Have you ever asked yourself “why am I taking this photo?” “Is there a message or feeling I want to share?” This seminar will help you develop your photographic eye. You will become more skilled at communicating with your audience and constructing narratives in your photographs.
The class will include:
- Description and examples of 14 common composition techniques.
- In-camera tips and tricks to improve your composition.
- In-class critique of your photos.
Registered participants are invited to share some of their images with the instructor and fellow classmates during a critique period near the end of class. Please bring no more than 2 JPEG images on a flash drive or memory card the day of class.
Location: San Jose Camera & Video
