The bread and butter for a lot of photographers is the on-location family portrait or engagement portraits. Most people desire to have these types of portraits taken outdoors. As a photographer, you are at the mercy of the sunlight and this can be stressful. What equipment do you bring? Should you bring a flash? How do you prepare for every contingency when you may not know the location? Your instructor Laura Tillinghast will share her years of experience as a portrait photographer with you during an on-location photo shoot. Join her at a local park as you participate in this hands-on learning experience.

Born and raised on the West Coast, Laura Tillinghast began making art at a young age. She explored many mediums until finally settling on photography when she was 17 years old. From that point on, she knew she had found the tool she was looking for to bring her imagination to life. Shooting primarily advertising and editorial content, you never know what you will find in front of Laura's lens. Whether it is a gorgeous model, a rock band or a bowl of oatmeal, she shoots with the same goal in mind; make it beautiful.
